Who We Are
At Sassafras Farms, top quality beef and pork is not only our passion - but our specialty!
We raise our herd of Registered Black Angus cattle and Registered Berkshire pigs between two locations, and we invite those interested to call so we can get you out to come take a look and learn more about us! Buying locally grown meat from Sassafras Farms is an experience you will not soon forget, and quite frankly, might just keep you out of the grocery store for years to come.
In 2015 we started our herd of Registered Black Angus cattle. In 2021 we decided to expand into pork and purchased Registered Berkshire Hogs. Both Black Angus cattle and Berkshire pigs are known for their high marbling, tenderness, and high-quality meat.
We purposefully chose these two breeds specially for these traits. The marbling quality is very important to us, as it yields more evenly distributed fat, resulting in more moist, tender, and flavorful meat than your average beef/pork product. For this reason, we source proven genetics throughout the country to be able to supply you with excellent meat quality.
